Gloria Strauthers is Principle/CEO of Exodus Management and Consulting, LLC. She is also and an Independent Certified member of the John Maxwell Team of global Speakers, Trainers, and Coaches. Exodus is a consultative management firm which provides leadership development services designed to increase the growth and capacity of those in leadership roles. Gloria specializes in Cleaning Management, Employee Relations, Leadership Development, and Youth Programs. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, ISSA, and is a Registered Environmental Services Executive and member of (IEHA) International Executive Housekeepers Association, a Certified Mortgage Field Service Inspector and is a SCORE Mentor with the Small Business Association. She has acquired over 21 years of diverse work experiences which include fields such as finance, healthcare, higher education and facilities management. Before starting Exodus, Gloria served as the Assistant Director of Custodial Services at Georgia Southern University. While in this capacity, she earned her Registered Environmental Executive designation and used it to add value to the 100 plus Custodians she led. Gloria retired from full-time employment in March 2016.
Gloria’s compassion for people began while serving alongside her parents in her Father’s ministry and the community. It was out of her own experiences of injustice and inequality in the workplace that led to serving as a Union Representative and member of the American Federation of Government Employees. In this capacity, she represented and defended the interest of her co-workers, as well as collaborated with management in the enforcement of the facility’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. It is those years of serving others behind the scenes that have prepared her for the opportunity to help others on a grander scale.
Gloria served honorably in the Armed Forces and received the Air Force Achievement Medal for building a medical record tracking system; which became a more efficient way of processing service members’ annual medical evaluations. As a result, Gloria became well-known for her attention to detail, work ethic, and integrity.
Gloria’s servant-leader demeanor is highly recognizable, so much so that she has been appointed to multiple non-profit boards ensuring people were always a priority. Currently, she serves as Chapter President of IEHA Georgia Coastal and has been a visionary leader who is committed to the continued advancement of the cleaning profession.
She is an Alumna of The University of Southern Mississippi, The Community College of the Air Force, and Tougaloo College of which she excelled in academia. Gloria was an Honor Graduate and Class Secretary of the Class of 1994 of Brookhaven High School, of Brookhaven, MS. She lettered an excelled in Track and Field and participated in numerous extra-curricular activities. Gloria is the eldest child of Daniel Wesley and Phyllis Wesley Lofton. She is married to David Strauthers and is a resident of the State of Georgia and they have a blended family of five.
